Wanker's backstory wasn't very deeply mentioned. The furthest Post-SCrash Session 3: Spectators of the Host goes back in depicting him is during the time when he ran a tour of his chocolate factory, which was attended by five children, Augustus Gloop, Violet Beauregarde, Veruca Salt, Mike Teavee and Charlie Bucket. During the tour, four children saw horrible fates and Charlie became the co-owner of Wanker's factory.
During the years between the tour and Spectators of the Host, Wanker seems to have changed for the worse. He is unable to think properly, "not knowing any better than grabbing his own crotch", and as such most managerial duties fall onto Charlie, who has begun referring to The Chocolate Factory as his company.
Also during the years between the tour and Spectators of the Host, he wrote a song that completely reverses his role as a chocolate factory owner, instead implying he's now more of a gamer.
As robots pretending to be Willy Wanker and Charlie Bucket but who were really GLaDOS and Atlas and P-Body were killed, the world thought that Charlie Bucket and Willy Wanker were actually dead. Therefore, as of Post-SCrash Session 4: Parody of a Parade they are in lockdown.
