MST is a form of fanfic commentary in which the entire text of the fanfic is copied and pasted and the author (MSTer) makes notes in-between the lines of the fanfics. The name derives from the title of the show Mystery Science Theater 3000, where terrible movies were commented on in a similar way. As the MSTers acknowledge the existence of the fanfic which they are commenting on, it classifies as a form of meta-commentary, even in settings where it doesn't make sense; for example, when the concept was mentioned in-character by Gloria Deschanel in Invader Zim: Born Again Christian or by Skepness Man Beauregarde in Enchiridion Marrissa.
MarissaTheWriter fanfics were frequently subject to MSTing. As many MSTers chose to mock Marissa's poor spelling, plot and characterization, Marissa came to hate them, and therefore, being an MSTer of MarissaTheWriter fanfics typically qualifies one as a falmer troll. Sue Mary stories have also been picked on by various MSTers, including Doombly, the stories' original author, but so far Sue Mary has not acknowledged any of the MSTers.
Because the precise text of Invader Zim: Born Again Christian was available through the MSTs, it could be restructured even when the original fanfic was removed from FanFiction.Net.

Currently, four Sue Mary stories have been MSTed twice: STAR WARS: YODA'S QUEST, Harry Potter's Twilite, Sherlock Homes vs. Jack the Ripper and VALENTINE’S DAY: UNRAQETED LOVE. All other Sue Mary stories have only been MSTed once at most.

- The show name Mystery Science Theater 3000 is likely what inspired Skepness Man's Pesterchum chumhandle, mysteryscienceSkepticalmagnet.
- In addition, in Post-SCrash Session 4: Parody of a Parade, Skepness Man is referred to as a "Meta-Space Traveller", which abbreviates to MST.
